  • Are there any discounts available?

Yes, I understand that therapy can be costly, and I do not want financial constraints to be a barrier to your well-being. A sliding scale is available depending on your commitment to a series of sessions, especially if you plan to book more than 6 sessions in advance.

A discount is offered for block bookings of 6 or more sessions.

  • How many sessions will I need to book?

While research suggests that 6 to 8 sessions may be typical, the number of sessions depends on your specific goals and the issues you wish to address.

I offer short, medium, and long-term therapy options to suit individual needs.

  • Can I book a single, one-off session?

Yes, I offer single one-off therapy sessions, typically lasting between 1.5 to 2 hours. This option is ideal if you have a specific issue you want to address, with the goal of gaining clarity, understanding, and practical insights on how to manage the issue.

  • Will the therapy work?

The effectiveness of therapy depends on whether we are a good fit for each other. If at any point you feel that I am not the right therapist for you, there is no obligation to continue.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to successful outcomes and to achieving the goals outlined in the treatment plan.

  • What if I am unable to attend weekly sessions?

Consistency is key to achieving successful outcomes, and I encourage weekly attendance. However, if you are unable to attend a scheduled session, we can reschedule at the earliest opportunity or discuss alternative arrangements.

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling, as a fee applies for late cancellations.

  • How does the appointment system work?

It is generally best to schedule the same day and time each week, but I understand that inregular shift work or other commitments may require flexibility. We can discuss and adjust your appointment time on a weekly basis as needed.

  • I have never experienced this type of therapy before. What is involved?

During our initial session, we will review and verbally agree or sign a therapy agreement that outlines the framework and expectations for our work together. I encourage you to read this agreement so that you can consider any questions or concerns you may have.  The length of therapy will depend on the issues being addressed and the treatment plan we develop together. Most clients typically engage in between 6 and 20 sessions to achieve their therapeutic goals.

  • How confidential is counselling?

Your privacy is of utmost importance.  All sessions are fully confidential and comply with MBACP ethics, GDPR guidelines, and legal requirements. We will establish clear boundaries for confidentiality in our first session. As a BACP accredited member, I adhere to their Ethical Framework and Professional Conduct Procedure.

  • Do you offer online or telephone counselling?

Yes, I offer remote therapy sessions via telephone, Teams, Zoom, or WhatsApp, providing flexibility for those who prefer or need online or telephone counselling.
